This is My Horse

“Ataan Al-Bahaar (barn name ‘Cisco’) is my 8 year old purebred Arabian. In November of 2010, he fractured his coffin bone. It was a nasty break—the coffin bone was broken into several pieces and infection set into his joint. For nearly 2 weeks, he spent the majority of his time lying down in his stall, licking his hurt foot. I wasn’t sure he’d ever ride again. Thankfully, with an intense course of antibiotics and a special orthopedic shoe, we were able to get him comfortable and the infection cleared up. I have always used Platinum Performance Equine in my show horses—I love the slickness and shine that it puts on their coats. After some extensive research, I decided to add in Ortho-Chon II and Osteon to Cisco’s feeding routine. In January of 2011, Cisco was off stall rest and back out to pasture, months earlier than I expected. By February he was back under saddle, again months earlier than expected. And in July 2011, he attended the Region 9 Arabian /Half-Arabian Sport Horse Championships—bringing home a Top Five in Arabian Hunter Hack Open, a Reserve Champion in Arabian Hunter Hack Amateur to Ride, a Reserve Champion in Arabian Sport Horse Under Saddle Open, and a Champion in Arabian Sport Horse Under Saddle Amateur to Ride. Not bad for a horse that no one ever expected to be able to compete again! I am thrilled to have my companion back, healthy and sound. And I truly believe that Platinum products have had a big impact in his healing and continued soundness. In fact, I was so impressed with Cisco’s recovery, that I started a second horse, HR Celestial Badi (barn name ‘Aajah’), who suffers from some osteoarthritis of his hocks, on Ortho-Chon II as well this past spring. He also attended the Region 9 Arabian/Half-Arabian Sport Horse Championships and had one of his best rides ever—his impulsion and range of motion was much improved since starting on Ortho-Chon II…and he also brought home a Top Five in Arabian Sport Horse Under Saddle Amateur to Ride.”
